Rainbow Cake

This is not my idea, but I think everyone should make one of these once in their life, it is really neat to see it. Here is a copy from a recipe site. It is very easy to do.
Basically you have:
-White Cake Mix X2
-20 ounce Sprite Zero X2
-Food Color or Food Die (Red, Yellow, Blue, Green)

Then you mix the cake mix up in six seprate bowls not using eggs or oil, but with the sprite zero, then you make two more colors and each bowl is a color then you pour into the pan to make circles, then just follow the boxes baking instructions and it comes out looking like this:

Allright, that is pretty cool! LOL I may have to try that. I wonder what the sprite does to it. Hmm..

Anyone have a clue?

The bubbles in the sprite make the batter fluffier which makes the cake less dense.

Yyeah, if you're not using oil it would be less rich, but the carbon dioxide bubbles would compensate for that to some degree, rather like an angel food cake; it's so light because it has much air and no fat. I wonder about leaving out eggs, though. They create the protein webbing that makes a cake stick together and not sink.

Using Sprite Zero instead of standard Sprite probably makes the sugar content less overwhelming, so I suppose technically it adds to the health value.

This recipe reminds me of the time I tried to make marshmallows using lime and orange Jello for the primary ingredient.

It looks awesome for a summer project - fun to bake.

My mom doesn't let me use food coloring because of medical reasons that I have to do more research on, but if I was able to, I would try it =).
