Edit Child of the KING ![]() | Stupid Question
Ok, this probably sounds like a stupid question to most of you, but what exactly is the purpose of a blog? I have been wondering that for quite some time.

That's not a stupid question. Sweetoffee14 already explained what it is. It's fun and many times it's therapeutic! You know when you want to get something off your chest and don't know who to vent to? That's when a blog comes in handy =) Blogs are used for other things as well -- as Sweetoffee14 said, it's yours...you pretty much have liberty to say whatever you want in it.

yep. =) there are people out there who use blogs as like a spiritual journal, day-to-day journals, or even like food journals. there are other uses for it, i mean it doesn't have to be a "journal". Its basically an online version of paper and pencil with the exception that you could let others view it with the click of a button

Edit AY! Newbie ![]() | I Luv 2 Blog! "My" blog is more of a family journal. Something that helps our family and friends keeps in tune better with what's going on in our family. Plus it's also fun to share your experiences and everything that's happening to you at school, home, etc. I get a lot of comments on how people enjoy just reading what's going on in our everyday life. And it's really easy for someone to pull up your blog, read what's going on, and close out. They're more prone to go and read your website to find out what's going on with you rather than e-mailing you or anything like that. I really enjoy it!

I keep a blog which is mainly just my thoughts on my life and things I encounter. I use livejournal.com and keep it friends-locked so only people I know can read it. I know other people who have used blogs when they go travelling to keep family and friends up to date about where they are and what they're doing by writing about their activities and uploading photos. Some people use blogs as places to keep creative writing excercises they do, or as a sort of public "column" like you get in newspapers, commenting on current affairs. I've considered keeping a blog like that, but I'm not organised enough to keep it regularly. It's worth remembering that most blog sites can also allow you to write private entries that no one but you (the person logged in under your username) can view. |
