We have seen several members who wish to leave a message for a moderator to deal with a post or a thread to reply within that particular thread in order to notify this. This is not the proper way to deal with this.

When wanting to leave a message about a post or thread for the moderators to see, please do not reply within the thread. You have 1 of 3 courses of action that you can take:

1) Report the post by clicking the red ! button on the bottom left-hand side of the post. It is after the icon for adding reputation, which looks like a heart with a plus sign. When you do this, it will send a message to us. You can write in the box when you report it what issue you believe needs to be addressed. This is really the BEST way to deal with it.

2) If you aren't sure it's "report-worthy", you have 2 other things you can do. You can PM someone on the staff. Make sure you are very specific about what post or thread you are meaning. Send a link of it if you can.

3) If all else fails, you can always post a thread in the "Complaints or Concerns". If you do this, PLEASE be sure that you are not posting on the "Questions and Comments" board. The difference is that the complaints board is private. No one on the site will see your thread except super moderators and site admins. The Questions board is NOT private. Everyone can see the thread. So, please, please check that you have the right board.

Anyone that has done this in the past will not be subject to any consequences on this site. However, being that this is a site announcement that anyone can see, anyone doing this in the future will be dealing with a possible warning/infraction.
