I started this out as one thing, and then this poem took on a life of itself. It went from just something I was thinking about (that our imperfect words are inadequate for praising a perfect God sometimes), but it turned into a prayer of something totally different. I hope this blesses you, and at the very least, gives you something to think about. If I get ambitious enough, I'll set it to music -- BUT I highly doubt that will happen (to be honest with you lol) Oh, and another thing -- if you have ideas for the title, please suggest away. I cannot seem to come up with anything that fits. Thanks! Lord, I'm here to praise you But I just don't know where to start All the words that I have Are defined by man O, Lord how can I describe you With the things of our imperfect land Lord, I fall to my knees My tears stream down I can't seem to make any sense Your holy presence, Almighty God It is just too perfect for words And when I'm there I can't seem to speak! O, my Father, your creation so beautiful I'm enamored and awestruck and brought to life! Your flowers, your trees, your painted sunsets! Your moon and your stars, the sun and the clouds Can't string all the words in a deserving way I'm sorry, I don't know what to say Lord, you are so wonderful You don't even spare your only child You sent him down to die for me On a cross, so cruel so I can live And for this I have only one thing to give To respond to this perfect sacrifice... I give you my life, Lord I give you my everything! My desires and my hopes and all of my dreams Take it all because it's all I have Cleanse me, Lord, and make me new Please, help me to be more like you. Lord, I came to praise You One last thing is all I can say To encompass all that I feel every day. I love you...I love you... My life and my love and my complete devotion Let all of me be enough to simply please Thee Amanda

Perfect Love Casts Out Fear
Edit AY! Newbie | That's beautiful, it actually made me tear a little. How about naming it "Perfect Sacrifice"?

Edit SuperManda ![]() | I keep humming a tune in my head to it -- half way minor half way major -- ie. not a real resolution until the end of the song. That's somewhat of the emotion behind the poem anyway. Thanks everyone for all of the comments. I haven't written anything like this in a LONG time. I actually wrote another one a couple days ago. I'm thinking of posting it as well- - though it's very personal. BUT it may help someone else that COULD think the same way. If you want to try to put it to song, do so! I'd be honored. Amanda

Edit Child of the KING ![]() | Cool! I think I'm going to try it! (Not that I'm any good at song writing. I probably wouldn't do it justice, but, they say it's the thought that counts
