Alrighty then, I'm reading Genesis and I'm to the part where Isaac was dying and he was going to give his blessing to Esau, but Jacob deceived Isaac and he was the one who received a blessing. I'm not gonna get into the story. But you can read Genesis 27 if you want to know more about it. Anyways, earlier in this book, in chapter 24, it says that Esau gave Jacob his birthright. Now, how is Esau a "bad guy"? Didn't Jacob deceive Isaac in giving him a blessing??? Because then I see this scripture: Make sure that no one is immoral or Godless like Esau, who traded his birthright as the firstborn son for a single meal. You know that afterward, when he wanted his father’s blessing, he was rejected. It was too late for repentance, even though he begged with bitter tears. Heb. 12:16-17 I don't understand this :[ |
