Edit Disciple ![]() | The How-To's The Bible can be hard to understand for a new believer, but God promises a guide to help us on our way. Being a Christian means accepting Christ in your heart and following His commandments as an act of love, all of which is written as God's Word in the Holy Book: The Bible. The Bible serves as our guide to everyday living, and also as the standard of what is right or wrong in everything we say or do. Learned scholars can recite entire lines of text and can explain them in detail. But to the new Christian and to the majority of the youth, the Bible is indeed very hard to understand and fathom. As a result, God's Commandments are left unfollowed. People before want easier ways of doing things; machines and computers were then invented to satisfy this need. At the same time, they want easy-to-understand ways on how to do certain tasks. Formulas, outlines, and tutorials were introduced for this. However, one may ask, how come the Bible has not been written a "how-to"? A guide that is a condensed version of the Holy Book, complete with topics such as love, justice, faith, and other subjects worthy of mention. It would then be easier if it would be in plain English rather than in a deep, archaic language. But God, in His infinite wisdom, understood that we may have trouble understanding His words. That is why He promised us the Holy Spirit, to aid us and enlighten us as we go along in life. He gave us the Ten Commandments, sent through Moses, to be our guide to everyday living. Out of all the rules Christians have to follow, Jesus Christ showed us that the two most important rules are to love Thy God and to love Thy neighbor. Thus, by giving us these, He made sure that there would be no excuse for us not to follow His words. He gave us the ways; now, it is our turn to live up to it. Many interpretations of the Bible and certain confusing verses have led to a differentiation of views and opinions, and different teachings of the Bible. No matter what practice we worship God, the important thing is to continue walking along His path, ready to take up our own crosses and follow Him. ------------------------------------------- In Nomine Domini Nostri Jesu Christi In the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ |
