CIS-1140, Networking Fundamentals

I'm taking this class this quarter as to finish up my certification program before I head out for the armed forces. Anyone got any tips on what should be studied? Or anything probably not covered in the book "Network+ Guide to Networks: Fourth Edition"? Thanks for any and all possible help.

Yes, I realize this is in the Tech Talk forum, not the College forum, which is because this thread is about computers and NOT college itself.

i just got network+ certification pretty recently. They recently updated the test with 2005 objectives, so I checked out this edition and I see it does have the new objectives :P.

Definately make sure you memorize 1) various connections, 2) the OSI layer and like a basic statement about what each layer does, 3) types of operating systems and a bit about the pros and cons of each. 4) the different topologies, even the weird ones like token ring :P 5) and a bit about TCP/IP and what IP addresses look like. Apipa addresses, privite address, etc. I didn't find the test too hard, and actually used amuch shorter book to study with. The one you have should cover everything very well and you might want to get a smaller book so that you can review the most important stuff. hope this helps! feel free to IM me with questions, i try to be on 9-10 pm eastern time

Thanks...
Eh, I bought Network+ Certification for Dummies the same day I bought me's book. I'll study from it when the time comes rather then the book I have probably.
