Randalls Testimoney

Randall. One of the “super heros” of my faith. If there was ever a guy I looked up to, respected more, or thought of highly, it would be him. He’s human, yeah of course, but he is an awesome witness to me. I would love for you guys to meet him here on this board but unfortunately he doesn’t have a computer. So I got permission from him to share his testimony with you guys. Are you ready for this? Hold on...

Randall was a first class juvenile delinquent. He got on drugs when he was 10 years old, and was hooked by the time he was 12. He hung out with teen gangs, and His parents weren’t Christians, and furthermore weren’t good parents, so they let him do what he wanted. Randall was also a sports freak. As he says “I almost worshiped sports. It was my life, going to games. I knew all the players names by heart. I knew everything about sports.”

And that is what drove him to leave off drugs and go to college to become a sports broadcaster. It was his dream, and for 3 years he worked toward it. He slaved over his papers, to get the highest grade. More than anything else he wanted to be a sports broadcaster.

And then he started meeting these Christian people. “They were radical,” he says. “I just thought I liked sports, but this whole God-thing was their life! In my opinion Christians were just people who were too weak too admit there was no God, but these people weren’t like that. They were like, convincing. Their lives lined up with what they preached.”

So Randall got converted, nothing spectacular, just a simple on-his-knee’s conversion. He started seeking God, with his whole heart. And that’s when things started happening. It was one night while he was praying that he heard God audibly speak to him.

“Randall, leave college and follow Me.”

“But God! What about being a sports broadcaster?”

“Leave it all and follow Me only.”

So with the obedient heart that Randall has, he obeyed that week. He dropped out of college (though his family and friends thought he’d went crazy) and got a small job as a construction worker.

Well, this is were the story starts getting good! Randall had a younger brother, Jarred, who was also a delinquent. He had been in and out of juvenile rehabilitation all his teen years. He had been busted for drugs numerous times, and was in the worlds eyes hopeless. He was addicted to sex, drugs, and alcohol... and it seemed as if no one could get to him. He openly mocked Randall, but that didn’t bother Randall one bit. He loved Jarred too much to give up on him. So he started praying. As well as praying at home for his brother, once a week he went up to his church, and he started a special prayer meeting for his brother, and invited people to come, just once a week. Sadly, most of the time he prayed alone. Prayer meetings are not popular.

One year passed. Two years. Three Years. Nothing happened. Randall prayed faithfully, fervently for his brother. People in the church tried to discourage him.

“Randall, maybe now is not the time for Jarred’s salvation. You should be patient, and wait on God’s timing.”

But Randall wasn’t patient. He was like the persistent widow who would not go away until he had what he asked for. He kept pleading with God for his brothers soul.

It was now in the fourth year. Jarred had just been released from rehabilitation and was at it full blast again. One night we was at a party at his friends house. He was on drugs, and he was trying to get one of the girls to go n the back room with him. Suddenly he felt terrible, like a rotten sinner and he thought...

“This is wrong. What I’m doing is just wrong.”

He quickly left and went to his apartment, where he saw laying on his bed stand a tract his brother had given him. He started reading it, and tried to call Randall on his cell. He wasn’t picking up, and he kept getting stuck with voice mail.

“Where is Randall when I need him?!!” he thought, and kept finally dialing the cell. But he could wait no longer. He got on his knee’s, confessed, and became a Christian that night. Just then his cell rang. It was Randall.

When he told Randall what happened (Randall went through the roof naturally in excitement) and asked him where he’d been, Randall replied...

“I was just up at the church praying for you man!”

I am blessed to know these 2 guys, and more dedicated christians I have never seen. Randall has been given the gift of healing, and has been serving God through this way. Recently he went on a 40 fast, and locked himself away from any form of communication with anyone but God. He came back with amazing dreams and prophecies, and a heart of fire for God more than ever before.

So, I hope now you are blessed, and totally convinced about the power of prayer!

Wow. Thanks for sharing. That testimony was definitely an encouragement, especially that of Randall's brother. God uses prayer. He always listens and answers us. If we align our prayers with His will, He will answer accordingly. Isn't it good to know that God's timing is perfect? Some might say that four years was way to long to save someone like that. Well, God had a plan in mind for that young man, and everyone in fact. I think He brought him through those four extra long years to add to his testimony. So he could tell how many horrible things God had brought him through.

Nice. Reminds me of Abraham being called from his hometown to Canaan.

Always remember that it's not you staying strong, but you staying beside the Strong God. We will persevere to ^the end^ and celebrate to n0ne. The soul is willing, the body is weak, the spirit is determined! The only righteous thing I ever do is to let God into my heart; even that was originally selfish and I couldn't do it if He weren't available.
