Err, not really retreats. My youth group sometimes goes to youth conferences, for Lutherans all over the state. They're awesome for getting your faith pumped up! lol but then you have to come back down off the mountain.. Blech. But, we've never had a retreat really. I'm trying to get my youth leader to have on around Easter. *hopefully*

u know retreats are tight and all cuz u get away from society and stuff and can get close to God.. right? My question is though....i know from experience... why cant some people keep what they got and continue to move forward??? seriously like i know my youth we all get fired up at youth retreats because the guest speaker touched us and we experienced Gods power...but then like in a few days after the retreat it lik disperses....what im trying to say is that youth reatreats are supposed to wake us up and its our job to stay awake..... know what i mean???

I'll tell you what, I went on a winter retreat last year. It was fun, but also interesting and dramatic. Somebody (a leader...go figure) was coming off of heroin. Also I found out one of my friends was having frequent premarital sex, and didn't even know or care what the bible had to say about it.
Good things? I made a bunch of new friends.
To tell you the truth, my youth pastor is into the 2 hour worship 15 min message deal. there are times where God is there, and others where he is not. you guys know what I mean.
I met this girl, at the retreat, who had been a christian for a while, then her parents got divorced because her dad was cheating. get this, while her dad was at the house of the cheater, her mom took her along with her to confront him and his girl. there was a fight, this friend of mine got involved, and boom, parole. She then took off to drinking and etc, but came back to Christ just before the retreat and came. She and me really got to be friends, but she had no support for her christianity...sadly. I was pretty much the only one keeping her on track. then when I was gone for some weeks, I found out she had left youth group and taken off to her old ways. Its something that bothers me everyday, what I could have done, what she could have been...I can only pray, and ask that ya'll would pray as well..
anyway, that's my experience in my latest retreat lol.
as I said, dramatic...
