"Challenge to Christians"--found on Exchristian.com

I found this on ExChristian.com, this was the beginning and subject of a thread entitled thus, by a Mrscrooge. Very...well, just read it.

"CHALLENGE TO CHRISTIANS: GO into the world and preach the gospel!

Don’t just hide behind your computer screen, debating fruitlessly with us heathens here at Ex-C!

Don’t simply hide in your comfortable, air-conditioned home or office, arguing religion safely ensconced in the blanket of American free speech!

Stop preaching your faith in a country that is FULLY aware of Christianity, and is already dominated by “Christian” thoughts and values!

Why don’t you hypocritical Christians, quit being cowards, stop making excuses, OBEY your “lord Jesus”, and “GO into the WORLD and preach the gospel”!?

Isn’t THAT the Great Commission? Matthew 28:19-20?

Take your Holy Ghost filled self, and your precious “armor of God”, and GO into Muslim dominated countries (Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Indonesia, etc.) and preach the “good news” to THESE lost souls!

Don’t hide behind any feeble excuses such as, “But God hasn’t called me!”

Nonsense! Not only is every believer “called” to do this, but “Jesus” COMMANDED IT! He said “GO into the world”, not send out prayer requests and satellite TV transmissions!

So…what’s the hold up?

Go on! Sell everything you have. Quit your jobs. Abandon your families. And follow in the footsteps of “Jesus”! “Glory be to gawd!”

Tertullian said, “The blood of the martyrs is seed for the church.”

Well? Go plant some seeds, you gutless wonders!

Of course, NO American Christian worth his cable TV, will EVER do any of this. They love their worldly possessions too much. They don’t REALLY believe in “God’s” promises of protection, or necessary sacrifice of life when “He” decides it’s time for them to die.

I am SICK to death of Christians. Always demanding that WE believe “God” and their bible, when it’s painfully obvious that even THEY don’t believe!

And don’t tell me about how OTHER Christians have done just what I have proposed. So what? How does that excuse YOUR unbelief and disobedience to the “Great Commission”?

Obviously their message did NOT get through, since whole NATIONS are still NOT believing the “message of the cross”. It seems to me that YOU Christians still have work to do abroad, and your FEW missionaries and Evangelists are not up to this daunting task alone!

Get out there and help them! (I’m sure your Pastor would agree with me!)

I want to see it! I want to see an exodus of millions of Christian missionaries, forsake all and go into Muslim dominated nations, where the penalty is DEATH for preaching anything other than Allah, and take one in the heart for the “lord”.

It’s SO easy to pretend you are a “suffering saint” here in the safe confines of America. Where the worse things that you must “suffer” here are people who won’t vote YOUR Christian agenda into law, allow prayer in schools, or see the “Ten Commandments” taken out of Roy Moore’s courtroom.

But it’s another thing to preach boldly and fearlessly in the face of people who will horribly KILL you for being a believer in “Christ as King”.

You Christians have no right and no standing on THIS forum, to preach righteousness to US, when you won’t do as Jesus commands YOU.

IF you truly believe this God/Jesus stuff, then why delay? What are you waiting for? Stop telling me about the miracles of St. Paul and how he “boldly” proclaimed Christ everywhere HE went.

YOU do it!

[But if you CAN’T see your way to take up this challenge, I fully understand. You’re not a “True Christian” ™, but in reality a closet atheist who doesn’t REALLY believe any of this bible BS, and you just hang out with church folk for the social benefits. I understand. Truly, I do!] :loser:"

How sad, but yet it rings a bit of truth to it.

But if we are in their forum, aren't we "preaching" the gospel to them? Therefore doing what God commands?

They do speak some truth sad to say. Alot of what they say is true about alot of Christians. They generalize to much though. They are trying to make it look like all christians are like that. But alot on this site have been seriously hurt by Christians. This just proves my point that we are not doing as good a job as we should be at showing what a true christian should be. Being on this site has shown me that.

That thread does have some truth to it. But I think there are also some sterotypes. This person is assuming that the mass majority of American christians don't believe the bible, yes more of us do need to go into the world and preach the gospel, but that we don't doesn't mean we're not real christians. It's not as easy as he thinks it is for millons of American christians to drop everything and go to other countries.

That is very true. They stereo type alot and I've been pointing this out every time I see it. They don't have an answer in response they just kinda turn the subject. But they do have some truth in what they say. Just not a balanced truth.

Side point...kinda...Yes, there's a guy on my website who believes that there's a universal religion. (Weirdo) and whenever I prove a point he doesn't reply but he goes to another point. I hate it when that happens >

Just keep pressing, not in a rude way though. I'm so proud of you all whom are doing this!!

"the greatest single cause of atheism in the world is christians, who acknowlege things with there lips and deny it by there lifestyles."

That's the beggining of "What if I Stumble" by D.C Talk. I think that the exchristians have tremendously high expectations of Christians, like they expect us to be perfect or something. Im not sure if they realize that though we have Jesus Christ in our heart, we are still sinners and will make mistakes. we still fear things; who would want to be tortured, right? Jesus did, willingly, we're not doing as Jesus would do to try to save others, so maybe we should extend our efforts. That's easier said than done since in today's world money and family tie us down, maybe the emphasis on God isn't showing up,but with God, all things are possible.I'm sure He knows, and i'm sure He'll forgive us for being cowards. As for the exchristian group, pray for them. It's just a misunderstanding, and in a way they have a right to show dissention to those whom call themselves christians when they actually are not. I know many who are like that, but i know better not to react in anger because anger only brings more anger. Besides, we don't know what's going on in there hearts so who are we to judge?

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighborand hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who persecute you."

Matthew 5:44

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

Luke 6:35

that's all i have to stay. Remember, love everyone and Judge no one!
In christ,
Samantha

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires...Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
James 19:22

Wow, that is amazing. I'm copying this and giving to a few friends.

I want to see it to. Oh, I want to see it so bad!! God has just so laid this on my heart about the muslims... I hope you people don't mind me sharing a bit?

See, muslims, they are radical, they are so dedicated... two things American Christians are not. See, if we could convert those people, those muslim extremeists...wow, their zealousness would spread I promise you!
And then muslim youth, just think of it... what if we got hundreds of dedicated, Spirit-filled Christians over there in those countries... just think of the results!

People, this is so on my heart. I don't know even where to begin...

I so agree with you Joy. I look at the zealous from other religions and think, "why aren't we like that? Why can't our youth be that way? What is stopping us from being like them?" Come on we know the truth yet we are so complacent. I am complacent and am realizing this and I hate it. Are we really giving ourselves 100% to spreading the gospel. No. Not when we make excuses for sin, tell people it's ok to continue the way they are. What we are doing is allowing people to die! Our lack of zeal and dedication is causing millions to die spiritually everyday. And it's our faults. We are sent out to spread the gospel. To preach in the market place and everywhere we go. In our schools. Everywhere! But are we really? How many of us are on AY alone? If we could touch just one person and they touch one person and so on, what would we have? We would have something awesome! We spend hours watching t.v. listening to our ipods, cd's and mp3's, posting, searching the net, talking on the phone, and those precious hours could be spent in intercession for the lost, reaching out to the community. It's getting to the point that I feel like giving up anything that is not beneficial to the kingdom. Entertainment, entertainment, enterainment. We are always complaining about being bored, nothing to do, filling our hours with mindless things and for what? The radicals from other religions are not listening to their religious music, reading their religious books, pondering on what they could do. They are out there living what they believe. We are so stuck on comfort, and what is familiar to us that changing our living patterns is scary. Almost....ridiculous sounding isn't it? But is it really? The disciples gave up everything to spread the love of Christ. Can we give up our worldy things that take up so much of our time. Can we become dedicated and I mean 100000% dedicated to the Call? Can we be radicals for the truth?
