Edit Apostle ![]() | hey hun! well, what do you guys usually do for youth group? personally i think you should do a little bit of all three. maybe play a big group game (you can find ideas through google, just type in group games in the search bar) first, then sings a few songs, followed by a devotional...then just have some fellowship time afterwards...don't worry, i'm sure you'll do just fine. you'll be in my prayers hun! God Bless. love GodDreamer

Edit Prophet/Prophetess ![]() | My advice (though this might be difficult) is to not pick something out of the book of devotions, but instead speak from your heart. Pick some issue that's really near and dear to you, and base your message around that I'd also be careful about playing games; they'll get people riled up and since you don't have the authority or the clout of the pastor, it might be difficult for you to get people to settle down and listen to you speak. Since scriptures are the inspired word of God, there's a lot of power in them, but be careful about just standing around and reading scriptures without stopping to unpack it. It's ok if you read a few verses and then explain how it relates to your topic, but shy away from reading entire chapters. IMO, if you read a large chunk of scripture without unpacking it, your listeners are only going to get the shallowest level of meaning from it, whereas most scripture can go really deep. And finally, don't be nervous

We won't help the poor, and turn our faces in shame when we come across the needy and less fortunate But we'll still call ourselves "holy" because we keep our pants zipped up. Adding on to the hypocrisy, the Believers among us WHO DON'T keep their pants zipped still declare themselves to be "holy" because their intentions are directed towards the opposite sex. -http://www.hollywoodJesus.com/ |

Edit Evangelist/Missionary ![]() | Well. I decided we could do a study on the days of creation, just as a general thingy. Not a whole lot of people showed up, like 8. We read and sort of discussed the first couple chapters of Genesis where it talks about creation, then we fingerpainted our 'renditions' of what each day would've looked like on this huge sheet of paper. It was fun, and it's always good to refresh yourself on the history in the Bible, right? lol
