Question Evolution

I am studying evolution in Biology class now and I was wondering what people think on this subject. I don't want to start trouble, but I can't help voicing my opinion when something comes up. There's just something inside me that doesn't feel right when certain things are said. So I would like some help, basically thinking of stuff I can say to people without sounding to religious. thanks a bunch
God Bless

Sister,
Know exactly what your going through. Been there, done that. And my advice to you is this... go ahead and voice the truth! Remember what apostle Paul said?

"I am not ashamed of the gospel..."

Pray before you do it though... and God will give you the words you need to say. Also go to this website, and read up. Really informative!!!

I'm a biological sciences major, so yeah... I get bombarded with this stuff all the time.
What specifically are you covering? Have you talked about the "origin of life", "big bang" or "comparative anatomy" or Darwin's "galapagos finches" or anything?
I can help ya with this, in addition to the answers in genesis, apologetics press and what not.... professors try to indoctrinate us with it here too... but I resist

If you're going to stand up for what you believe, a few tips
-Make sure you understand the arguments that you're going to use. If you read something on a creationist website and it sounds cool but you have no idea what it means, people will be able to tear your argument apart since you can't defend it.
-Don't go looking for a fight; don't balk at every mention of evolution or Darwin, but be prepared to defend your beliefs if the topic gets into the whole "This is how life was created" or "this is how life evolved from the primordial ooze to today"
-Don't go into with "I am right and you all are fools and/or brainwashed for beliving otherwise. Have a really humble attidue, instead of making statements like "Evolution is wrong because of X, Y and Z", say things like "Well, I don't understand how evolution can be true because isn't it true that X?"
-Find specific things that you're being taught that you disagree with, and have reasons why they're no good. For example, if they teach you that in the primordial soup, all of the chemicals eventually became life, ask "Didn't Pasteur's experiment prove that life can't come from nonlife and spontaneous generation doesn't work?". Don't bring up unrelated things (at least to start the discussion)
-Don't argue out of the Bible. Yes, you can use the Bible for explaining why you believe what you believe, but don't use the Bible as evidence for why they should agree with you because if they're not Christian, the Bible is not going to help you convince them.

We won't help the poor, and turn our faces in shame when we come across the needy and less fortunate But we'll still call ourselves "holy" because we keep our pants zipped up. Adding on to the hypocrisy, the Believers among us WHO DON'T keep their pants zipped still declare themselves to be "holy" because their intentions are directed towards the opposite sex.

It happened. but i'm not going to say that in school.

Far as the finches go, they're an example of microevolution, not macro. Microevolution is not at odds with Scripture at all, we have lots of examples of it.
I'll explain it further if you like

Crevolution for the win! Yeah, I'm a total Biology geek. It's grand.

As someone else said, make sure you know what you're talking about if you go ahead and make a fuss. Don't mix up the big bang with evolution. I also don't see the controversy over the finches. All that proved was that there was species diversity in finches, and then in other organisms. That doesn't mean that God didn't create different kinds of finches. Organisms do change and adapt over time to accomodate surroundings and environment, that's something anyone has to accept. That's nothing against the existance of God.

What is there outside the Bible that discredits Evolution?

The simple fact that everything has a perfect order. If the Sun was just an inch out of orbit the whole solar system would be out of whack. Things happen from cause and effect. You cannot have an effect without a cause. It's not logical. Case for a Creator is an excellent book on this topic. You can't make something out of nothing. It just isn't possible.
