We spent millions on the war on Iraq, but we have people in Texas and other areas where hurricane Katrina and Rita hit or might hit these places. How come Mr. Bush didn't do anything til the storm hit? The millions of dollars could go to people that need to evacuate, to get medicine, and gas for them. It's like he's laughing and making fun of these people. Some people don't have money to leave their homes and businesses. It's a crying shame.

Ok... first of all, there are errors in that post. If you don't think that he (and we as americans) has spent millions of dollars, then you really need to watch the news more often.
Secondly, you're acting like its his fault that this happened. Lemme ask you, if John Kerry was president right now, would the storm still have happened? Obviously, the answer to that is yes. Secondly, would you be mad at him because it happened? I'm guessing not. Right? Why though? That seriously makes no sense. Why, well cause hurricanes are an act of God, not man. And also, all those people that didn't evacuate were warned. They chose not to evacuate, and the gas wasnt that much b4 Katrina. And Mr. Bush def. can't stop all these ppl freakin' out and buying every gas station out of gas.

Also, how come people downplay the war in Iraq so much? You said you remember the people of 9/11, but really, that isn't acting like it.
If you think that Mr. Bush is doing something wrong, then pray for him. Pray for him even if he isn't doing something you don't like. And pray for the people who were/are going to be affected by these hurricanes. Our praying is going to do a heck of a lot more than our complaining ever will.

It is true, Jessica. I watch the news every single day. Why would I pray for Mr. Bush? I have seen the truth and this thread is not an error. Its the truth. Btw am I the only person on this thread upset about this?

President Bush has already apologized for not getting there quicker he took full responsibility for it. To me that shows that he is doing a good job. And this thing against us in Iraq is what makes me upset. Hello 9/11 could happpen again. I commend Bush for keeping our nation safe and trying to help other nations. That is the most Christian thing I can think of at this moment. He is helping those less fortunate then us. Kerry wouldn't have done that. No! We are a selfcentered nation and it makes me sick! That is what makes me mad. Bush is doing what he can to help the Katrina victims, that is mass chaos down there and I feel he is handling it well. No man is perfect, so don't expect him to be. We are supposed to support our authorities because whether we like it or not God did say that no authority is given a man because authority is only granted by God. So just pray for the man and support him.

I didn't say that the whole thread was an error, i said that you made some in it.
And in that last post, you asked why we should pray for Bush?
Well heres some pretty good reasons;
A) He is a Godly man, and is acting upon that
B) God told us to pray for our leaders
C) ...and He said to pray for our enemies, if thats what you make him
D) If you want something to happen, you have to ask God for it

btw, I don't think you're the only one who doesn't like Bush.

You said that you watch the news so you know. Well, I live in TX, and I personally know that what you said is not what is happening.

He said that the Quran was the same as the bible. And I will not pray for him because I don't agree with him or the GOP.

Julie you won't pray for him? I am honestly shocked reading that from you! When have we become so high and mighty that it is below us to pray for our leaders? It doesn't matter if you don't agree with him, not praying for him is very wrong and goes against God's word. That is not a righteous anger. And I'm very dissapointed. It's one thing to have a different opinion and express it but it's another when a Christian refuses to pray for someone who needs our prayers the most. I just can't get over what you said.

This was a post I did on my LJ a couple of days ago, here it is...
Quote:

Ok, I'm not one to post on political issues, but this really got my goat... C. Ray Nagin (Mayor of New Orleans) was offered by Amtrack (The railroad) to get the people out of NO before the hurricane hit. They would have sent enough trains to get almost everyone out...I heard of this story and researched it and someone else had already put what I wanted into words. I blame the local government, that's why they're put there to do local things, Bush cannot do everything, he's only human. "It didn't have to do with black and white's it has to do with Poor and Rich." That was from an african american guy in my psychology group.

Dear Editor,

There is a reason you've received only one pro-Bush letter to your paper regarding Katrina. Many readers are brainwashed by propaganda spread by anti-Bush folks. They must also be greatly uninformed and have no desire to seek the truth.

Regarding the Katrina storm, the mayor and the governor had five days of knowledge about the severity of the storm given to them by the weather bureau. The responsibility lies with them first. The local and state authorities must put their plan into action first; that is the standard.

Amtrak offered help—it wasn't taken, the buses were not utilized (yes, in an emergency, the powers-that-be control school bus companies) and the people were not properly warned. Where is the outcry for an apology from Louisiana officials? The president responded when he was notified and ended up apologizing because of his underlings' mistakes. The Bush bashers can't get it straight. On one hand, he's the dumbest guy around, and on the other, he's the cleverly evil man who plots to eliminate minorities. The racial element added to this is a disgrace. It is perpetuated by those who abhor this administration and it is completely unfounded. Bush has placed more African-Americans in the highest-ranking positions of this country (including Clinton) than any president ever, period. Do your readers also believe the reckless comment by Mr. Farrakhan that the levees could possibly have been blown up to remove the black population? To falsely pounce upon the president and politicize this tragedy exposes the true colors of the left and the minions they control. Hey, readers, don't buy into everything that tickles your Bush-hating ears. Don't be like Sean Penn and bring your personal photographer to a tragedy for some hero shots. Be independent and check the facts.

A.J. Steele, Bellmore
That's my political post, it's no any one persons fault that this happened...N.O. is below sea level and have been warned for years that if you take away the swamp lands that nature will backfire, so I blame the stupidity of the people (not nowdays, but whoever established N.O.) who did not listen to scientist, and not build there.
It just bugs me, that things could have been handled better on a more local level, and then like Adam and Eve, they play the blame game...

That doesn't seem very "Christian" to me.
And I'm very offended about all the things you've said, 'cause I'm a Die-Hard Republican, and I think our Nation NEEDS Bush, no matter what y'all say. I ain't trying to argue and come off strong, but that's just how I feel.
