Edit Guest | All I can say is just have in your mind that you can drive, and that you can do well. If you don't think of it in that way then you probibly won't have as much confidnence. Also, just pray to God whenever you start that you have a safe trip, and that you can keep your momentum strong on the road. Pace yourself at the beginning, and just drive at places where you know you can succeed. Then just know what the functions of the car are, and just take your time on the road, and whatever you need to do. That's about all the advice I can think of at the moment. God bless you, and I'll pray for you during this time. |

Edit Apostle ![]() | I have a permit and am practicing before I get my license, so I know what it's like to be nervous! There are a couple things I would recommend that I noticed others did too. 1. Pray for protection. 2. Don't forget to buckle up and make sure those with you do, too! (okay, that's a bit too elementary, lol, but it's still important!) 3. Adjust your mirrors to make sure you can see good. 4. Get into the habit of using your turn signals right away. 5. Starting out in a parking lot (preferably an empty one, lol) is a great place to start and is where I started out. Just get the feel of the car. See how the pedals work and the kind of pressure you have to apply. Check out the steering wheel. My parents had me doing turns and figure eights. 6. NEVER take any chances! Don't ever be in a rush or feel rushed by someone in the car with you or someone in a car behind you. It's your life! If someone behind you gets impatient, that's their problem. Their impatience is not worth you getting into an accident or getting a ticket. Take every precaution and don't be risky or overconfident. Stay focused and don't get distracted. 7. Just take it easy. It takes time to learn something new! Don't rush it. I've had my permit for about three months, and I'm still working on learning to park and back out. Driving does seem kinda scary because there are so many careless people out there, but it can still be a pleasant experience. You'll get the hang of it! ![]() |
