Edit Prophet/Prophetess ![]() | It depends on the band, and more importantly the song. I don't believe you can really say that "all christian music is good and all secular music is wrong", and esp. visa versa. But I will say that I think some christian music is not ok to listen to, while i am ok with some secular music. So that being said, If you make a list of what you consider ok and not ok, you can refer back to it to make sure you're sticking to it... Thats what i do, i made music guidelines... For an example i can show you mine if you want. What do you consider wrong or right in music?

This is our problem. So let's wake up and change the world - our time is now |

Edit AY! Newbie ![]() | I personally chose not to listen to secular music because to weakens MY relationship with Christ. It may not with others, but I have made that decision because thats whats best for me ![]()

Edit Super Moderator ![]() | I agree with what's been said pretty much... if the lyrics lead away from things of the Spirit/Christ, it's not good for me. They can plant ideas/speculation, and that's no good. I like and listen to some secular music, and I like country too!! ![]()

Edit Comput3r G33k ![]() | I personally do not listen to secular music. It is true that not all secular music is bad, but there are attitudes and other implied meanings in many songs that can harm your relationship with God. A few times, I worked with an electrician at some construction sites - and the first day that other constrution workers were there, they played some of the more clean secular music. Nevertheless, when I got home that afternoon I was very depressed and just could not get the lyrics to some of those songs out of my head. The seccond day was much worse, the music they played was terrible , after that day I decided to not listen to secular music if possible.Music is important, it can have a positive meaning, or it can degrade. I choose to listen to only Christian music because it is uplifting, and positive. ![]() |
