Kind of stuck

Hey guys,

I'm stuck in a rut. I used to cut myself, almost 2 years ago, and last week i had a slight relapse and had thoughts of cutting myself again. Well, i made sure to talk to those closest to me before i actually went through with the thoughts and I got through it just fine. But now, i am stagnant in my walk with God and am struggling to return to the steady growth i had been experiencing before last week. I guess i just need some words of encouragement to convince me that i can actually get back on track and continue growing in my relationship with God. Thank you so much!

Sis don't go back into cutting. It's not worth it. Please know it's not worth it. E-mail me. We'll talk. I'll pray with you but don't go back into cutting. There is something better for you. God can bring healing. Trust that. Believe it. You can pull through this. You can. Rest in Christ's arms. You are His beautiful daughter. He loves you. Let Him hold you and bring you comfort. Cutting will only bring you more problems. I know you can rise above this. God has an awesome call on your life. An anointing for you just for you. Grab this and hold onto it. It's so so so precious. You are blessed. God will pour out His blessings on you. He is gonna take you places you never thought you'd go. But this is good. Such a good thing. What a witness you will become when you pull through this. You can help change other teens lives! Isn't that awesome! You will be a history maker. Hang on. You'll be ok.

Thank you for your words of wisdom. It really means a lot! Don't worry, i'm not going to go back to cutting. I have a bunch of people around me who are looking out for me and helping me through, and i don't plan on letting it get to that point again. It is scary, though, to have those thoughts again, because God really did heal me a couple years back and i definitely don't want to disappoint Him by going back to it. Nor do i want to disappoint my family and friends who have helped me. I'm getting through the rough part and now i just need to work on getting back on track in my walk with God. That's really becoming the hard part of this whole thing; how do i move ahead again and start my spiritual growth again???

Hey girl,
I used to cut... So i know what you're dealing with...

Throw yourself on God...
He will never fail you when you call out to him.

If you want to move on... and the best key
I can give you is to spend as much time in prayer as possible.
its that simple...

The more time you spend with God, the more He will influence, and rub off on you...
So the more you will become like Him...

I agree with Joy. Another idea that helps is get a study buddy so to speak. Someone who is willing to pray with you and read the bible with you. An accountability partner can do that. But as Joy said spend as much time with God as you can. That is the best thing. but I found that when I a stuck having someone who is moving along spiritually work with me it gets me moving. Then you take it from there.

Hey, I also used to cut (I still slip up at times)
Anyway, I'd like to say that I congratulate you on talking to people about the thoughts. I recently was tempted to cut and didn't talk about it, and so ended up going through with it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 says "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."
God is faithful

John 3:16-17 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him"
That's a verse most Christians know off by heart and can recite without thinking, but when you think about it, you realise how wonderful it really is. I mean, we certainly didn't do anything to deserve that. It is only because God loves us that we know we have hope through Jesus. I think that's what I'm trying to say...God loves us and we can rest assured in that.

The first part of James 4:8 says "Come near to God and he will come near to you." I can only encourage you to continue drawing near to God, praying and studying His word, even if you can't really feel Him with you.

If you ever wanna talk, I'd be delighted to get a pm or whatever from you

Hey you ! i'm so proud of you for over coming your temptation. you really are an awesome daughter of God. the only way to get back on track with Him though is to make it a point to set aside some God time daily...get up an hour earlier (if you can) and spend some heart to heart time with Him...or go to bed earlier...and even during your break at work, or when it's really slow, just talk with Him...pray with out ceasing, every spare second you have, just talk with Him. in your devotional time, ask Him before hand to open your heart up to what He has to show you...try and meditate on the words you're reading...ponder them... i know it's easier said than done...but the more time you set aside for Him, the more initment you'll become with Him. and now that school will be starting on Tuesday, you have study hall 1st block...so you could spend those 80 minutes with Him...i know you could be doing homework and stuff, but even if you just set aside half of that time to spend with Him, that's still 40 minutes...and if you can't do that, there's always EET. Just keep on seeking Him, you'll find Him. you're in my prayers. i love you lots!!
