hmmm - thats tough - you doing it socially or alone? cos if its social i'd avoid those situations and certain friends till you kick it again. If its alone i would ask you to question your motive.. are you doing it as a form of escape or maybe just as your bored or otehr.... anyhow tackling the root cause will help you tackle the issue. For instance doing it in a group "to fit in" is security and self esteem issues an the best way to tackle them is to know who you are in christ and build your identity up in him and what he thinks of you rather than what your mates think. Cos if your secure wit Jesus it won't matter what your mates think.....

Hmmm i got some good stuff on who you are in Christ Jesus if you want..

oh Justin...

what would you like us to do for you?

man, i'll be praying, and if you ever need to talk i'm here.

Father God,
Set Justin free from the devils grip. Send someone
in his life that will be a friend to him; someone to help him
out of this. God, hear my prayer; please be with
Justin right now. Help him to realize that he can come to You
no matter what. Give him humility, and a contrite
Spirit in Your presence.

Defeat Satan! Defeat Satan! This soul will be Yours,
do not let Satan have it...
Because of Jesus...

Lightbulb The Root Issue

I used to smoke pot and drink my mom's wine. But I did it to cover up how I was feeling inside. Most of the time I felt numb without purpose and as if life was some ridiculous game God was playing with me. I felt like a puppet so I decided to take back my life and do whatever I felt like doing. Besides smoking pot and drinking all my mom's and my grandma's wine, I tried to fill that void in my heart with affection from girls. I felt that they would comfort me and do whatever I told them to do, but in reality what I really wanted was a mom and a dad. My dad left me and my mom and my two sisters when I was 6. I was never the same. I felt angry at God so I put him on the shelf. To make a long story short I stopped doing drugs and drinking my mom's wine when I got to the end of my rope. That was at an Acquire the Fire www.acquirethefire.com . I had to make a decision. Who was I going to live for? Was I just going to sit there and let my past dictate my future? Was I going to stay in bondage to drugs and alcohol? Jesus Christ is the answer. When I need a best friend he's closer than a brother. He died for me. He loved me so much that he spread his arms wide open and hung on an old rugged bloody cross. He was whipped for my transgressions. He was crushed for my iniquities. The chastisement that brings me peace was upon him and by his wounds I am healed. He is the same yesterday today and forever. And just how he set me free from everything I was addicted to he can do the same for you. You just have to make a decision. Who are you going to serve? You need to get on your face before God and ask him to set you free. You have to go after him til you find him and he touches you. He can heal your broken human experience. Embrace the cross. If you want help, if you want out from the lifestyle you are living, make a commitment with God and have Godly men hold you accountable. I'm praying for you. Your breakthrough is just a prayer away.

Don't try to kick the addiction with your own strength because you will fail.

Lean on Jesus the whole way, and you'll get through it.

Adding on to the hypocrisy, the Believers among us WHO DON'T keep their pants zipped still declare themselves to be "holy" because their intentions are directed towards the opposite sex.

very true!

i still drink, but not a lot, and i am legal age, mostly just a couple beers after a long work day, or a glass of wine or two with dinner. but man did i ever used to be a pot head, havn't smoked anything in over a month, without Jesus i never could have done it! and you would be amazed how much healthier you feel and how much more energy you have without smoking pot, it really makes a difference, not to mention the health reasons, with the number of carcinogens in every puff.

i will be praying for you to find the strength in Jesus, that i did, to help you kick the habit!

Hey, Justin. I will definitely be praying for you. One of my best friends in the world used to smoke pot (and all sorts of other stuff), and drink, and i have seen her released from the bondage of drugs. But i have also seen the difficulty she has faced in giving up drinking, even a year or more after she gave her heart completely to Jesus. I have seen how hard it was for her, and the emotional turmoil she has been through. But she got through it, with the help of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She has been released from those things, and you can too. Pray to God. Put your trust in Him, and He will release you. Don't feel as though you need to do it alone. You will always have Someone to guide you.

Normally I don't have a problem with anybody smoking pot, but it's obviously upsetting you. Pray a lot, God will guide you through it.
