Edit AY! Newbie ![]() | I'm not really interested in a boyfriend right now and I really wanted to get to know God on a new level but it was kind of annoying because the feelings about guy kept getting in the way. I'd always heard that you should direct those feeling toward God but I'd been having trouble doing that. So I decided to commit to dating him for a month, which means I treat him like my boyfriend. (Only of course it’s a more intimate relationship) So now any time I would normally spend with a boyfriend I spend with God. I talk to him, sing to him, take walks, and sometimes just listen to him talk to me. (I have the New Testament on a tape it's really cool.) It's really helped me to focus more on him it's been really cool! Anyway I just thought I'd share that with you and thanx for reading. |

Edit Guest | The phrase "dating God" really, REALLY bothers me. Does this mean that when God brings a boy into your life as a boyfriend, that you'll no longer be intimate with God? The concept is good, but that phrase... ACK. No. If you want to concentrate on being close with God, that's great, I'm happy for you. But if I hear the phrase "I'm dating God right now" ONE MORE TIME, I'm gonna kick somebody. All too often, girls just mouth that off as an excuse to get rid of an annoying boy when what they SHOULD be saying is, "I'm not interested. leave me alone." Furthermore, the whole mental picture of "dating God" ... it just doesn't work. Don't get me wrong; I love the idea, I'm very happy that you've decided this. But please, girls, don't talk about "dating God" anymore. |

Edit Prophet/Prophetess ![]() | Demo Man, I know what you're saying, that phrase drives me crazy too. You can "date" God, and still have a bf too. Just make sure that you stick with your commitment to God, while you're dating also.
