Lust! Bah!

Alright, so i've been seeing plenty of "yo, what's the opinion on girls" threads, but a lot are mainly based on a different subject than this thread is aimed. Sex seems to be a through which roams through just about everyone's head (for me at least, being an 18 year old male, it's a pretty abundant thought) but so few people talk about it. You would be suprised how easily just getting it out with a person can REALLY help.

so the thought of sex comes easily to my mind (grr!) and i've tried so many methods of closing my heart to lust, but every time i come back just to embrace the thoughts. right now, i'm doing pretty good. i feel like an AA addict. anyone else find any relatively less-difficult way of tackling this demon? do you even think about it as much as i do?

Everybody thinks about that, whether they are guys or girls. You're not the only one. Don't be discouraged.

I usually start singing a praise song in my head or pray in my head.It works the majority of the time.

I've struggled in the past with the same exact problem. It is a sin that consumes, but doesn't satisfy. That satisfaction can come from Christ alone. The more satisfied you are in Christ, the less pull the temptation will have over you.

One effective way to combat lust is to immediately start praying when tempted for someone you know who could really damage Satan's kingdom. Pick someone and continually bring them before the throne of grace. It can really change your thought patterns for the better. And you'll be amazed at the power of prayer. :D

Recently, I've also taken the Purity Force course, which is good for people to take whether they are struggling in this area or not. It is a 30 day course that exposes Satan's lies and shows tons of scriptures that will help make biblical changes in your life.

God is there and He can help you in a way that no one else can! I have been there...you're TOTALLY not alone in this!! Lust is something that I have found SO many people face! You just gotta rely on Christ...He can get you through this...pray...everytime you think about impure things...pray and think about what Christ did for you on the cross...that sure helps me!!

Thinking Sexual thoughts is one of my downfalls in my walk with God, after I think one of those thoughts I feel like I'm not worthy to be loved by God, but I'm getting better. You're not the only one.....

When I feel like I am in a place that i know that i am not supposed to be I start singing a song in my head and praying as well.
