Getting drunk is a sin. Drinking, in itself, is not a sin....but it should be done in moderation. Also drinking affects how you think and how you react to things and also your vision, so be careful with it. Personally, I've decided not to drink at all, unless God puts me in the situation where it would bring the most glory to him if i drank and alcoholic beverage.

i do not think drinking is a sin, i think drunkeness and alcoholism is not something one shoudl aspire to do, but there are far worse things most of us do everyday than having a glass of wine or a beer

No, I don't think it's a sin. Come on, Jesus turned the water into wine so that people could drink it while celebrating. Bible aside, people do some pretty stupid crap while while drunk. Like driving or having unprotected sex. So the point of my ramblings? I don't think drinking responsibly in moderation is a sin.

Drinking to get drunk, is a sin. I think that if you 1-2 drinks isn't but, it you overdose, I believe it is a sin.
My Dad did used to be a bad alchoholac, it wasn't the best thing in the past, but he has quit now, and everything is ok, but please people don't drink just to drink, drink on occasions but don't get drunk, HECK Jesus had wine!

the fact is that there isn't in responsible drinking... Also, Jesus didn't make wine like we have today, it was not alcohol.
Also, just with one drink, it affects your judgement, also kills your brain cells.
God says we're His temple. He doesn't want people to abuse His temple.

i've decided not to drink personally, but i just want to bring up a point to you people...
there's a drink that people have maybe everyday, and many drink it regularly, definitely not in moderation...it has tons of chemicals and is responsible for all sorts of diseases from cavities to cancers...plus it also is a cause for obesity and diabetes...it's soda...which contains caffeine, which is a drug...so...most of us probably have never drunk beer or wine, or if we have, not much...how many times a day (or a week) do we drink soda? ever tried to pronounce the words in the "ingredients"? most of them are chemicals! wonder why obesity is a big problem...what's maybe the most advertised drink (next to beer)?...see what i mean?
just think about it...me? i've decided not to drink soda either...i haven't had a sip for quite a while...

True...but drinking soda doesn't cause drunkeness,and it's not illegal for kids.I hardly think you can relate alcohal to soda.

i know...i'm just making a point...personally...i'm a healthfreak...and want to take care of my body...but really, when you get to heaven is God's choice...your choice is just whether you want to live life on earth healthy or sick...(or maybe drunk)...we have free choice, but i'd prefer not to risk alcohol...
plus, i might be allergic to alcohol...i've never tried it, but my parents are allergic...and being chinese, alcohol makes us turn bright red!
