Nope, afraid I don't. However, as a word of advice, it may be easier for you to figure out how to convince them to quit if you ask them why they do it in the first place.

I don't smoke. 1. I can't. (i'd be sick all the time, i can't really be around smoke or i'll get sick, can't imagine wanting to smoke) 2. Its a form of suicide... Everytime you smoke you are hurting your lungs, and after time you can die from it.

Talking to people won't make them stop... Influencing is a better idea. I don't think anyone would stop ( or listen) if you told them to, unless youre really close to them.

&& all of us just sit back and watch it happen. This is our problem.

I don't think smoking is a form of suicide from my point of view (I don't smoke, but someone in my family does) and they don't do it to kill themself, it's just a really addictive habit, that CAN be stopped, but it's hard to quit. I think smokers know that they need to quit, but that is one of the hardest habits to break, it's not like picking your nose, or chewing your hair, it's a really hard thing to stop, but with patience, time, and God, it can be done!

My daddy smokes and he has since he was 12.I've tried everything onethousand times over.Even my tears won't sway him!It hurts me that he doesn't care that we all worry about him.He just wants to satisfy his cravings at the moment. He's NOT a bad person or anything...he just happens to smoke.

I agree, people who smoke aren't bad, they just have a bad habit. My Mom smokes, and she's a grrrrreat person!

Hmm, smoking? I indulge occasionally at parties and social gatherings and such, but I'm surely not addicted. Why do I? Because I like the taste, and the feel smoke in my lungs. Yeah, lame I know. But when I say occasionally, I mean I've had maybe five this year, and I'm usually sharing with people. I see it as no different than people who go out tanning unprotected in the sun all the time. Or tanning beds for that matter, but that's a completely different discussion.

christsgirly- just because your dad smokes doesn't mean he doesn't care about you. Like you said, he's been smoking since he was 12, and he has to quit for himself, not anyone else. I think it's really difficult for people who aren't addicted to understand how difficult it is for someone to quit.

That's not the point. If he doesn't love us enough to stop thretening his life, then he doesn't love us enough.
