Question Christian and Hard Rock/Metal, Rap

Great tastes that don't taste quite so good together. (well I personally don't like metal or rap ) It just seems stupid. Christian rock is cool. But headbaging to praise

Hey to each his own. I personally feel like you, but if somehow that makes people want to praise God whatever works, it would seem.

I don't really look at christian rap as praise. I listen to it alot and I like most of it. I like it more than secular rap because it isn't dirty. I see it as more pleasing to the Lord. I like Christian Rock too, I can see that more as praise. I don't know much about Christian Metal, but I'd probably see it the same way I see rap.

Does it matter how they are praising God as long as they are doing it in a safe and healthy way? I like P.O.D and their site has a Christian forum much like this one. The people on there are friendly Christians who also love P.O.D. There are many ways to praise God. Either you like to sing peaceful psalms at mass on sunday or listing to your faveorite Christian band/rap group "banging your head." As long as you are praising God it doesn't matter.

peace.

I, personally, have never heard a rap praise song...
I'm not a fan of rap or of metal... I like some hard rock, alot of rock, and alot more of worship, lol
I think its ok as long as its pleasing to God.

God made rap/hard rock as well as the slow, put-you-to-sleep tunes. Therefore you can use any type of music to praise God. He didn't say "this kind of music is bad, and this kind is good" no, all music is good, until you put the lyrics in. A song could have a slow, worshipful pretty tune and at the sam time have horrible lyrics that are anything but worshipful.

This reminds me of hymns. You ever wonder why hymns sound so much alike? It's because back then they used to think that certain chords were "evil" and that they were not to be used in christian songs. Sound familiar?

Hey guys, interesting to see what y'all think about this music business. I have been in a debate about this recently and i personally feel that if the lyrics and singer/rapper are praising God and giving Him the glory then what is the darn problem???? People jump to all these conclusions that if ya listen to rock and rap that you are a satanist, that it aint good for a christian to listen to these. Tell you what, i listen to gospel, accapella, rap, rock, comtemporary stuff............................ To me, so long as i can hear the lyrics and know they are praising the Lord, im not bothered what kind of beat it has or how slow the words are.
Its music, music is another form of prayer!!!!

G'day to y'all!!!!!!
God be with you!!
