Edit AY! Newbie ![]() | forgive EVERYONE????? puleeze write back!! I was wondering does God want us to forgive all people? I mean, I know we should follow His will and be like Him, and I want to follow that. But doesn't He only forgive if we ask? Does that mean we should only forgive when people realize they are wrong and need forgiving? Somehow I know the answer is, "forgive everyone." But why? and how? It's really got me confused!! |

Edit Prophet/Prophetess ![]() | When you accepted Christ, all your sins, past present and future were forgiven. You don't need to ask forgiveness for each new sin that you commit. (The Bible does call us to repent from sins that we do, which basically means to realize that it's wrong, apologize, and don't do it anymore. Repenting is different from forgiving). Because God forgave you of everything freely, without you doing anything to deserve it, you're supposed to forgive other people of everything they do to you, freely, without them doing anything to deserve it (which means that you forgive even when they don't realize they need forgiveness). It doesn't mean that you forget, though. If somebody betrayed your trust and told someone else a personal secret about you, its probably wise that you don't tell them more personal secrets until you are sure you can trust them. Hope that helps...

Edit Apostle ![]() | Hey Lizzy, i see what you're trying to say...but it's extremely important to forgive someone, even if they didn't ask for forgiveness, other wise it creates bitterness with in us, and a wall between us and God...i can't remember the verse, but in the bible it says that we must forgive those to hurt us, inorder for God to forgive us...but don't forget, you don't have to forgive someone on your own, all you have to do is ask God for help and He'll give you the strength to forgive them! hopefully this helped!

Edit Guest | Mark 11:25- "But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your father in heaven will forgive your sins, too." (NLT) Matthew 6:14-15- "For if you forgive men their trespasses, you Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (NKJV) |

God forgives everyone. But he can only forgive you if you forgive others. When you pray repent. Ask God to forgive you for all of your sins. | |
