Exclamation Repentance?

Once you get saved, it doesn't stop there. Just because your heart changes that doesn't mean that your life does. The word repent means to turn away. (from sin). this may mean cleaning up your vocabulary, respecting your parents, even having to stop having sex with your sister.

what do you all think?

Look dude, alot of people are going to give you tons and tons and tons of answers.. But the answer Im going to give you most people are going to disagree with but.. it is very Biblical. I am in Brazil on a mission trip right now. Alot of the people have catholic back ground. They think that Christianity has so much to do with works. I was witnessing to one of the drug lords in the favillas and he was telling me through a translator how he does so much wrong, and that he has to keep doing those things or he will be killed by the other members of this gang. He can still be a Christian. This is a matter of life and death for him. He has to kill many people in His job. But he accepted Jesus Christ today. Romans 8:1 says there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.

Repentance does not mean to turn from sin. I was talking to a very intellegent 60 or so year old man this week actually and he was going through this thing with me that went back to the actuall meaning of repentance. It is acutally a change of mind and of heart. Once youve become a Christian you have already had that change. Should you ask for forgiveness? Yes of course. Jesus says in John 6, when the people are asking Him what work they must do to do the works of God, and Jesus tells them, the work of God is to believe in the one He has sent. Thats Jesus. Youve already done that. Your covered! Now and forever!

I have to go the internet cafe is expensive.. much love turst me i will get you more scripture later.

Forgiveness is so hard... but all you are called to do initially is give up your right to revenge - hand the hook your hanging him from over to God. Forgiveness is then no longer holding it against him. It doesnt mean you have to like the act or even think oh what a great person - but it is getting past those hateful feelings etc... doesnt mean what he did doesnt hurt - but in time as you forgive God will heal that hurt!

I hope this will help you...

satan works to destroy relationships.

A. satan uses people's action to created hurts that breaks down relationships.
Ex: satan successfully separated God and man (Gen 3:1-13,23-24)

B. Show how these:
Misperceptions
Unfaithfulness - rejection
Pride - Egoism
Hurtful, abusive situations
Manipulation

Lead to these:
Unforgiveness
Disappointment - wounds
Accusation - blame
Anger - resentment - bitterness - hatred
Lack of communication
Fear - mistrust
Jealousy - envy - gossip - slander

Good News: God can restore what satan has destroyed!

FORGIVENESS HEALS RELATIONSHIPS

A. We can forgive because God first forgave us (Eph 4:32; Col 3:13)

B. God has commanded us to forgive others
We can't love God and hate people (1 John 4:19-21)

C. God can't forgive us if we don't forgive others (Matt 6:14-15; Mark 11)

The Concept of Forgiveness: Forgiveness is not a product of your mind or of your will. It is the product of your soul and Spirit. Jesus said that we must forgive others from the "heart" (Matt 18:35). Many times Christians deceive themselves into thinking that they have forgiven someone because they've forgotten him from their hearts.

Remember that Jesus set the example for us when He died to restore and heal our broken relationship with God. God demonstrated His abundant Love by sending Jesus to die while we still His enemies (Romans 5:. Some may need to release offenses toward God before they can forgive others.

How to Forgive?
Ask the Holy Spirit to bring to mind the people who have hurt you. (Ask Holy Spirit to make you remember all the people you hurt and hurt you) Recognize that you harbor offenses against people, and that you are in sin by holding on to those wrong attitudes. You must repent of all unforgiveness. Forgive those who have hurt you from the heart and decide their offenses.
