Edit Apostle ![]() | I saw this on another Christian forum. I wasn't a member though so I'm glad you brought it up here. I don't think it can ever be accomplished with a human. Thats Gods job and I think its scary that people are trying to take over His job. I think its wrong to use fetuses for the testing of it. I also think it would be wrong to use it as a way to bring a person "back to life" after they die in a car accident or something. It would never work. Its like identical twins. They have the exact same DNA but unless raised under the VERY SAME conditions and go through the exact same experiences(which is virtually impossible) they will never be the same person. It would be a brand new soul since the other one has gone to heaven or hell. I can't think about it too much. It doesn't make any sense. I think its wrong.

Edit Guest | I've heard some pretty passionate arguing on both sides about this, but everyone I've ever talked to has always said that we draw the line at cloning humans. I have never yet heard anyone approve of that. With that established, we can safely assume that any actual debate about cloning will involve only animals. Personally, while I think it is dangerous ground to be treading, cloning animals could potentially have uses for us, without involving risk to the animals. However, we don't know what the long-term effects are yet, so I am hesitant to either approve or disapprove of it. |

Edit Evangelist/Missionary ![]() | I don't agree with or support Cloning one bit. I support something that is far more beneficial (and destructive) than cloning, you would know it as Nanotechnology. There's something that can seriously deliver a blow to all forms of cancer and any disease. Not only that but it could increase our industrial and mining output compared to other countries, and it will lead to other great technologies.

Edit Guest | One should be very careful with that attitude. While you are correct, it is also our place to care for this world, not abuse it. If excessive use of cloning turns out to have destructive effects upon our environment and animal populations, how would it look for us to have condoned it? |

Edit Prophet/Prophetess ![]() | I think that since a lot of issues like this aren't addressed in the Bible, people take advantage of them.I thought that cloning in and of itself was wrong because people were trying to play God.Then someone brought up heart transplants and things like that.Isn't that playing God?Someone enlighten me. |

Edit Guest | The phrase "playing God" is a bit overused, in my opinion. God created us to be like Him, only vastly inferior; we were created to have dominion over the things He created, and to rule over them with the wisdom He endowed us. So to me, the phrase "playing God" is kind of what we are supposed to be doing. However, we are supposed to be taking care of God's creation, just as He would do (and does), and that is where the line is drawn. Modern medicine - heart transplants, artificial limbs, and the like - is a very constructive field, and I am grateful for it. Modern science is where a lot of grey areas are drawn - think nuclear bomb - but yet, so far, we have ruled more or less wisely; the planet is not falling apart (contrary to popular opinion). We have to be careful to keep it that way. |
