Poem: Tired

Tired -- written around October or November of 2004

I'm tired, Lord
Of splitting my weekends
Between my parents
And having to schedule things
Only on certain ones

I'm tired, Lord
Of sin
And smoking, and drinking
And cursing, and swearing
And my dad complaining
I don't spend enough time with him

But I don't want to spend time with him!
I don't want to hear it and see it!
I want it all to go away!

Where are You Lord?
I'm here
I'm ready and waiting
Where are You?

I'm tired, Lord
Of headaches
And diseases
And cancer
(And suicide) - [added tonight concerning my brother]
And dying
I don't want to say goodbye
To those I hold dear

I'm tired, Lord
So, so tired
I don't want to have to depend on my faith
I want to see You face to face
I want You to hold me
Hold me close to You
And wipe it all away
All the sadness
All the sin
Just wipe it all away

Come, Lord
I'm ready and waiting
I strain my ears to hear the trumpet sound
There is none
I look far in the distance for Your cloud of glory
There it is not
I will wait for You until my death
And never will I quit believing
Your are my only hope
And in You I trust

Please, Lord
Give me rest
Renew my strength
Let me to walk and not grow weary
For on Your paths sin weighs me down
And I'm tired, Lord
So tired...

*Has anyone related to how I feel?

That bit in particular... It's just so how I feel right now! It's an amazing poem. *Hugz*
