The Ways of the Wicked...by my classmates and I

Here is a screenplay I wrote for English. I edited the swear words (since this is a Christian forum). My classmates and I will be filming it next week. Let me know your thoughts.


The Ways of the Wicked
A Screenplay by Alex, Michael, Stephanie, and Jesse

NOTE: VP stands for Vipery and VC stands for Vince

Enter scene café or dinner, midday, a medium line only about 5 for 6 people in it

Go: up to a side shot of someone finishing ordering

They leave frame to reveal guy ordering, indistinct

Girl (in line behind guy): hi there

Guy (ordering): me?

Girl: yea you. Your not to bad of a looker, and as I see you ordering (__some item__) at a place like this alone, without a ring. I think you're pretty cute
Guy: thanks.

Girl: Your welcome, hey I'm Kristen.

Girl: Offers hand

Guy: Hey I'm Vince. So you're new in town, then?

Kristen: Yea, I came in for a job, but just staying with family until I decide whether I'm staying around here.

Vince: Well good luck then. Hope to be seeing you around.

Kristen: Thank you and I will

Cut to Vince sipping drink involved in book, Kristen walks in and drops piece of paper on Vince's table

Cut to medium close up (waist to face} Kristen smiles turns towards right frame.

Cut back original shot see Kristen walking towards and out of door; Vince glances up towards door sees paper left hand goes toward paper

Cut to close up with Vince's hands holding paper. Unfolds paper we see KJ and a phone number

Cut scene 1

Enter Scene 2

Vince: Did you hear of how I got promoted on the job?

Vipery: No…congratulations. I know you really wanted to be promoted.

VC: Thanks. You seem kind of upset though. What's wrong?

VP: Nothing. Why do you ask?

VC: You're muttering under your breath. Now you can't tell me nothing's wrong.

VP: It's none of your business. You always meddle in my affairs.

VC: We're friends….I thought we were supposed to look out for each other.

VP: Friends?! We were friends at one time, but that was years ago. I can't believe you thought I still was your friend.

VC: What do you mean? I thought that…."

VP: Look, whatever you thought, it was not true. You know what? I stopped being your friend when you got hired at the same company as me. When you got all the praise from the boss, I stopped being your friend. I am the hard worker; I do everything that makes the company stable. You on the other hand, don't do anything!

VC: That's not necessarily true. I do some work!

VP: Yeah…reading magazines and being the garbage boy. Some work

VC: Well, I do…other stuff to!

VP: Like what?

VC: I…..do…..oh forget it

VP: Admit it. You’re lazy!

VC: You take that back!

VP: I won’t, for it is the truth

VC: You know what? Forget about us being friends! You’re nothing but a snake!

VP: You’re weak….

Exit Vince. Vipery stays behind thinking.

Cut Scene 3

Enter scene 4

Enter scene into a bank where Kristen is standing in line. Unbeknownst to her, Vince is right behind her. They are in a line with 4 or 5 other people.

VC: Well, look who it is.

Kristen: Vince? Wow…hi. What are you doing here?

VC: This is my bank. What brings you here?

Kristen: I am going to set up a checking account. Turns out I am going to live here after all.

VC: That’s neat. Do you want to go out after you’re done here for a bite to eat?

Kristen: I would love that. Let me just set up the account and we can go.

Close scene and reopen scene with Kristen and Vince walking outside together.

VC: I suggest we eat at Don Pablos. The Mexican there is really good
Kristen: Ok. I like that idea.

Kristen and Vince walk on the sidewalk and are silent for a few seconds. Then Vince speaks

VC: You know, I must say, my old friend Vipery would be jealous if he saw us together.

Kristen: Why would he be jealous?

VC: He’s never gotten anything in life. I have always gotten the rewards. Vipery’s always done the work, and I admit I have done little work on the job. I just got promoted and now he’s jealous and probably would hurt me if he saw me again.

Kristen: Don’t worry; I am here to protect you.

VC: I hope that is enough.

Cut scene 4

Enter Scene 5

Reopen scene with Vince and Kristen walking on the sidewalk. Suddenly, Vipery comes out of the bushes.

VP: Why hello there….friend.

VC: Vipery? What were you doing hiding behind the bushes?

VP: Nothing much. I was just watching you two

VC: I’d like to introduce Kristen. Kristen, this is Vipery. Vipery, meet Kristen.

VP: The pleasure is all mine. If you do not mind Kristen, I must protest this relationship with Vince.

VC: Why? It’s none of your affair to what I do in my free time.

VP: Vince, it is. I do not like you hanging out with this girl. She seems suspicious.


VC: You’re jealous!

VP: Begging your pardon?

VC: I said you’re jealous of us. I knew you would be. Mr. Big shot gets nothing while the little guy gets the girl

VP: No. I want to kill you. You’re a disgrace and should not be allowed to live.

Vipery gets a knife out and both Vince and him begin to fight. The fight is short and brief. Vince blocks many of Vipery’s slashes and thrusts. Vince ends up stabbing Vipery in the knee. Vipery falls down hard on the ground.

VP: Darnit!

VC: That’s what you get for trying to interfere with my life.

Kristen: You’re not going to let him live…are you?

VC: If I kill him, I’ll be breaking the law. I don’t want to do that.

Kristen: He tried to kill you Vince! Don’t you think that he should receive what he rightfully deserves?

VC: It is not our place to kill Kristen. You know that.

Kristen: Yes, but if he lives, he could kill you in your sleep, poison you, or something worse.

VC: You’re paranoid. He won’t kill me.

Kristen: Whatever. He’s going to die now.

Kristen picks up the knife and quickly stabs Vipery in the chest. A scream echoes from Vipery and she smiles.

Vince: Why did you do that?

Kristen: For us. I don’t want the one I love to die or leave me.

Vince: You…love me?

Kristen: Yes. I should’ve told you earlier, but I couldn’t.

Vince: Come on, let’s get out of here before the cops come.

Kristen and Vince walk out of the scene, leaving Vipery lying on the ground. Vipery slowly takes the knife out of his chest. He opens his jacket, revealing body armor. Silently he laughs to himself.

Cut Scene 6

Narrator: No one knows what became of Vipery that day. Some say he died in his sleep of old age. Others insist he is alive and well, plotting his revenge on Vince. As for Vince and Kristen, they ended up getting married and now are living happily with two children. Vince is a lawyer and Kristen is an attorney. They share a law practice.

I know its a little gruesome, but its what we all decided on.
