I Just Need Help...

Hey everyone... I just really need to talk to someone or get encouragement to talk to someone that's with me in my hometown.. I've been struggling with depression for 21 months. It was never really bad. It was always just something that I wasn't used to and I thought it was bad... My friend has recently brought up the suggestion that I am a manic depressant, and I'm starting to think that maybe he's right. Sometimes I'll be fine for a few days, and one time it lasted a few months. Well when it lasted a few months I thought you know, "Hey! Maybe this is all going away. Maybe I'm finally where I want to be." I was smiling again, and laughing again... But then it all went away, and when I fell- I fell hard. I'm hurting more than I've hurt in these past 21 months. My pastors wife and I are really close and plenty of people have told me, "This isn't normal. Talk to her." and I'm just don't know what to do... Can ya'll please help me? -Katie

Hey hun there is hope! Don't loose tight of that. There is freedom from depression. It may take time but there is freedom. I'm not very good about posting openly like this on a board but I would be more then happy to talk with you personally. PM me and let's talk.

Katie, first off... never kick yourself if when you depressed you can't concentrate on stuff even if it God stuff. Thats normal in depression whether your a christian or not...

To give you more of an idea about the two main types of depression (since i can't assess for you not knowing enough...)

Manic Depression: (i'll come back edit this later when i actually have the info as it upstairs - sorry)

Also if you struggling with anything always have someone you can talk to... if you get on really well with your pastors wife she'd be great to talk to. Also someone who's a christian and supportive or whos bin depressed. All good options....

Just pray to God to get rid of your depression, and Rebuke it back to Hell where it came from!

Lord,
I pray for Katie, she has been really depressed lately and doesn't know what to do. Give her peace, and comfort, and get rid of this depression that has a hold on most of the teens today! Let her come to you for EVERYTHING that she struggles with, and EVERYTHING she needs help with!
In Jesus' Holy Name,
AMEN!

First off, let me just tell you that you aren't alone. There are millions of teenagers around the country that can relate to feeling depressed. I will say that I am one of them. I have suffered with depression for five years now. It is now a chemical imbalance in my body, though it didn't start that way. I can't control those feelings of depression. With God's help, I'm getting though it, and you can too. There is so much more out there to life than to feel stuck in a rut for the way that you feel. My question is, has this feeling of depression gone as far as to have suicidal thoughts or self harm? You really need to keep on talking about...with family, church members..maybe even see a counselor...talk with anyone that you can trust about this issue. And if you ever feel unsafe with yourself, FIND SOMEONE TO BE WITH YOU!!! God is there, but I know that it's easier to have someone physically there as well. This is something that you can overcome. Have faith in that...there is always hope...God is there with you right now...and I know that there are TONS of awesome people on this site who love you and want for you to feel better...we are all going to be praying for you! Keep on talking about this, that's a major step in the right direction!!

I used to be like that untill I said:"What am i doing!? Why should I be depressed? I am loved by the God of the all, He died for me! He has a personal relationship with me! Im going to Heaven some day!" And then I prayed for God to take it away from me and He did. Keep praying.

Romans 8:28

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
