Songs that ministered to me

These Casting Crowns songs really made me think about us Christians today. Read these lyrics and let them minister to you. I am saddened so much by the responses of Christians today on issues such as abortion, homosexuality, and other issues. Alot of us have gotten to soft and alot of us to hardened towards the world. And these songs really touched me on this. Read them and think on them.

It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in
trying to fade into the faces
the girls' teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
farther than they know
But if we are the body
why arent His arms reaching
why arent His hands healing
why arent His words teaching
and if we are the body
why arent His feet going
why is His love not showing them there is a way
there is a way
A traveler is far away from home
he sheds his coat
and quietly sinks into the back row
the weight of their judgemental glances tell him that his chances
are better out on the road
Jesus paid much too high a price
for us to pick and choose who should come
and we are the body of Christ
But if we are the body
why arent His arms reaching
why arent His hands healing
why arent His words teaching
and if we are the body
why arent His feet going
why is His love not showing them there is a way

This next one just make me cry when I realized how I fail to do this to the extent I could.

What if the armies of the Lord
Picked up and dusted off their swords
Vowed to set the captives free
And not let satan have one more

What if the church, for heaven's sake
Finally stepped up to the plate
Took a stand upon God's promise
And stormed hell's rusty gates

Chorus:
What if His people prayed
And all who bare His name
Would humbly seek His face
And Turn from their own way
And what would happen if we prayed
For those raised up to lead the way
Then maybe kids in school could pray
And unborn children see light of day

What if the life that we pursue
Came from a hunger for the truth
What if the family turned to Jesus
Stopped asking Oprah what to do

He said that they would hear
His promise has been made
He'll answer loud and clear
If only we would pray

The first song is talking to those who are way to judgemental. And the second really touched me becuase on alot of things I've become to soft. There is a difference that we don't seem to see. Don't become so soft that we stop preaching the truth to those who really need to hear it remember that we are called to be warriors not pacifists but do it in love not out of being hard hearted. These songs just really ministered to me.

I love those songs!!! I have the CD!!! It's totally true, that song is totally true!!! And you're right!!! We are God's chosen people to tell the rest of the world about Him... wow that sounds so awesome, we are God's chosen people. It's amazing how God chose us... we are in the final times already!!! He's coming soon and here we are, occasionally watching MTV, cussing, and we let a bad word slip out once in a while! We have to change and be different so people will come to God!!! What a revelation!!! This is it guys, we have to change and be prepared 4 people to talk bad about us and all that junk because of God!!! I'm totally willing to lose things 4 God!!! Did I start preaching or what? LOL

You go girl! I'm glad to see that someone isn't ashamed to preach the truth. Don't stop speaking those words. Now since we are chosen by God I want to start acting like it, talking like it and walking like it.No more sitting on my hands with the cat holding my tongue. I dont care if Christians stone me (figuratively speaking) I won't stop. I will reach, heal, teach and go like we are commissioned. And I'm so so so glad to see cutemonki is to.

Those are awesome songs! My sister has the cd and we listen to it on our way to school every day almost! I think they are a really good group, a good example.

Hey!! You're right. I have that CD, and the Casting Crowns have really ministered to me too. The songs, "Who Am I" and "Voice Of Truth" are my favorites. Like Who Am I, that song makes me think. If you read the lyrics... It's just amazing how true they are, "Who Am I that the Lord of all the Earth would care to know my name, would care to feel my hurt? Who Am I that bright morning star would choose to light the way for my ever wondering heart? Not because of who I am, but because of what You've done. Not because of what I've done, but because of who You are." It just really amazes me. The things that we do, and God forgives all of them. The things that we say, and God forgives them all... Who am I? I'm just a tiny speck out of the 100 billion people in this world, but I still matter. I matter to God, and God loves me and listens to me everytime I cry out to Him, or reach out for Him, or just simply thank him for what I have. He listens... I really think we take that for granted sometimes, but God forgives us for that too. Also the song Voice Of Truth- "The Voice of Truth tells me a different story, and the voice of truth says do not be afraid. And the Voice Of Truth says this is for my glory. Out of all the voices calling out to me, I will chose to listen and believe the Voice Of Truth." That is another one of there songs that gets me because of what has gone on with me lately. Because really everything that God puts us through, or brings us out of is going to be for HIS glory in the end. Everything we do, we shouldn't be afraid because God tells us, "For I am with you. Even until the end of time." And of everyone saying, "Do this. Do that. You can't do this. You can't do that." I won't listen to them, because out of all those voices saying all those things to me- I will listen to one voice. The Voice Of Truth which is God- because God IS the Truth.

I was on my way back from a 3-week mission trip with my youthgroup last summer to the Solomon Islands, when I first heard that song. Yep, it was on the final flight, from LAX to Boise, Idaho. I was borrowing my pastor's CD player (mine had broken) and asked Jas to look through his CD player. I grabbed Casting Crowns, had heard they were good, didn't know their music.

I played through first song. Whatever. Got to 2nd. Voice of truth started up...I cried so much man. It probably hit me more than any even-worship song at that time, as it hit me so uniquely in so many areas and struggles of my life.
