What is the advantage of Promise Rings?

I want to know exactly what the title asks: What is the advantage of Promise Rings? It would seem to me that a ring wouldn't be beneficial but I could be wrong.

Its a more obvious reminder to yourself and others about your commitment.

yeah, exactly...it's all about what it stands for...commitment...just like when you get married...you exchange rings...it's what it stands for.

I have a promise ring. It's my reminder of my commitment of abstainance. You don't have to have one. but everytime I look at it it reminds me and that is a big help to me.

This is how I look at it: A promise ring is something to remind you of your Commitment to God, and it's like a wedding band before marriage....lol
I'm saving up for a Promise ring, I want one desperately, I think it will help remind me to keep my thoughts captive, to be TRUELY honest!

yeah what the above people said is true.. actually it doesn't have to be a "ring" if you don't fancy them.. it could be anything - necklace, bracelet, watch.. whatever.. it's just a sign of "covenant" between you and God that you will not have sex before marriage. and it has to be something obvious and something you wear each day to remind you of that covenant.

but about "marriage rings", that's a different story. we use rings cuz it is a circle- representing a never-ending covenant of love between a couple.
