Edit AY! Newbie ![]() | Role playing? Who even knows what is, if not click away. I would like to know who here role plays on the internet. If enough people don't and don't know how I will post what it is and how to role play. If enough people do know how and like it, I will actually post a role play, as long its alright. It is literature, no where else to put it either. So who role plays?

Edit AY! Newbie ![]() | Wow, works out well. Runescape is an RPG (Role play game) role-playing involves writing and imagination. Well for those who don't know what it is I'll explain. Rping stands for role-playing; rp is role-play, ECT... You, individually create a character, no limits but keep it clean (like I need to tell anyone here that.) You can create or join a role play, you can also do both. A role-play takes a large amount of imagination and creativity. Theres the romantic rps, adventure, fantasy, action, and so fourth or you can have a mixture. Then theres your time line, Middle Ages, present time, or future. Unless theres this thing that makes it two time lines, something like that. Be any race, anything you want. A character sheet looks like this, only with YOUR character details. Name: Age: Race: Attire: Gender: Weapons: History: (And all that important stuff, depends on the rp) If you’re creating an rp, try to give as much detail as you can, and a decent plot. Also, once again, be creative, I've seen many, many “Forest rps”, “Wolf rps”, “Vamp rps”, “Castle rps” and stuff like that. It gets old fast for there is no creativity; it’s the same thing over and over. When joining an rp you shouldn’t use a character sheet, unless you’re really new at rping. Use a lot of description in the first, second, third posts about your character. Just don’t make a list. “He is ten, he is white, he is a male, he likes food, he wears black, his eyes are blue, his hair is black, and he likes animals.” That’s what I like to call a list. Race: Your race is important; it gives your character traits. A dwarf is strong, slow, and a very proud race. While Elves are fast, swift, and silent, their sight and hearing skills are great. Humans are in between for the most part, good speed, agile, regular senses. Then there is every other race in the world. So I wouldn’t have a tall, slender, fast, agile, swift, and silent dwarf. Gender: Yes gender is important too. Not only because you prefer a male of a female, vice-versa but also the way your character acts can be based on the gender a lot of times. Female characters can be agresive, though most are kind hearted and girlie just like a real girl. They should not be able to over come a large guy, some can but most won’t be able to pull it off. So most male characters are stronger then the female characters. Plus the gender can create personalities. You don’t see many men attending a tea party or wearing a skirt/dress. Age: A twelve year old could not take a twenty year old. See age matters, if you’re five you’ll act five, if you’re ten you’ll act ten. You won’t be 6 feet at age five, you won’t be able to wield weapons and ride animals at age five either. Keep this all in mind. Formats: Theres two really popular formats. The one I like best and use a lot is this. Your character’s actions are in Italic: He/she jumped Your own character’s speech is in regular Bold: Hello He said Another character’s speech is in a Color and in bold: Good day to you sir! The man replied to the “hello” and walked on. Your character’s thoughts are in Italic bold: He seemed like a nice gentleman for these parts. He said passing the man with a wave. Also most use “He/she” instead of “I or me” The second format is limited and not as good. Character actions are in normal text: He walked on Character’s speech is in “”: “Today is dull,” He said grimly Character’s thoughts are in “” and are announced: “I wish life was more exciting!” He thought as he opened the door to his home. Another character’s speech is regular text and another color: “It is dull huh?” He agreed with the boy. Same, use “He/she” instead of “I or me”

Edit Apostle ![]() | RPing actually role playing is a form of occult when it is miss used. so be careful of what you get yourself into. for instance take the hard core "Magic" players. or "Dungons and Dragons" Quote:

And Magic is a CCG-a collectable card game. It's even further from RPs because you don't even have a character there; you just build a deck and play a game with it. It's like playing a game of go fish except that you pick all the cards you get beforehand. And there's very little danger of RPGs being a gateway to real occult magick. The hard core D+D players are the ones who get really into it and dress up (Do a search for Live Action Role Playing), not the ones who become a witch. Magic in a game of D+D (or most any RPG, I haven't actually played D+D) takes the place of technology. You want your characters to run around with swords and slay dragons, so you can't set it in the modern day. However, if technology is at the medevial level and your characters find themselves in a dark cave, then they can't just turn on a flashlight. So they cast a light spell instead; the magic takes the place of technology. If you play a futuristic RPG there's very rarely magic; it's always technology that gives characters supernatural powers. With that out of the way, I'm up for some role playing. If anybody's interested hunt me down on AIM or post here or something.
