Government Censorship

What do ya'll think about it?
I think certain kinds of censorship is perfectly find, and much needed. Such as not telling us the secret CIA or FBI operations going on. Or the technical experiments in Area 51 (no there aren't any aliens in area 51! lol). but other kinds of censorship aren't okay. just curious as to everyone's views on that. thanks.

in a true democratic republic the citezens should be informed of everythign and annything that goes on in the governmental system, that being said the united states, and Canada, are not true democracies. they see censorship as needed but it should not be of things that are issues that involve the well being or the lives of the citezzens

i dont belive any nation should do anything that they cant tell the people. this is a nation of the people, not above the people

Censorship is needed, in many areas. but unneeded in others. the gov. cannot trust everyone in our nation, and with good reason.

I would not tell the people much of the secret ops going on. some stuff just needs to stay quiet. just like when you tell your friend a secret, its not good if someone else knows. same idea here.

i would argue that the govt does not need to be doing any secret ops
but thats just how i would run the country
