Movie Ratings

I thought maybe it would be fun to debate on what sort of movies are suitable for Christains to see, not see etc. Like if it all depends on the rating or if it just depends on the content etc? Thanks!

well at my family its not nesesarily the ratting itself it why its rated that. We dont mind violence a whole lot, but gore isnt to good. Swearing is bad, but we have a TV. gardiun [sp?] if theres any ndity we probably wont watch it. and other religions... I can watch stuff like star wars and Lord of the rings that have "religeous" aspects to them, but then there are movies like Pokemon and Harry Potter that i cant. So basically my order from bad to worst is Violence, swearing, nudity, and other religions fit in there somewere.

That's like almost exactly like us!! I can watch Lord Of The Rings but not Harry Potter or Pokemon and some violence isn't too concerning and we don't mind milder PG words as much. I wish we had a Guardian though! Oh, and my Dad and Mom can't stand crude humor!

yeah some of that isnt to good. i havnt watched verry many movies with crude humor in them. But i have watched tv shows like home inproment that has crude humor in it.

Yeah, I've seen such shows as Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfield, Hope And Faith, they are all pretty crude!

That is the same w/me. I can watch some PG 13 movies. I have movies like LOTR, Spiderman, EverAfter... but I can't watch anything with sex, bad words, ect.

Yeah. My familys pretty loose about violence,gore and action but when it comes to sex and stuff they flip the channel pretty fast.

well, that's good that your parents don't let you watch those movies, but soon, you're gonna have to decide what movies YOU find acceptable. and i don't think you can rely on the rating system to pick which movies are acceptable. you just need to find out what's in the movies and decide for yourself. i watch alot of movies. the only thing i really find offensive is nudity, and anti christian things in movies. but that's just me. you have to figure out what you think is ok.

Yeah that's a very big question that i believe cannot be answered lol.
I think its alright to watch movies, as long as there are NO bad scenes or too much crass humor. Either that or have someone censor it for you..
Sadly many christians fight over what we should watch. I think that sexuality is universal though. just an opinion..

Hey, a good place to find out every litle thing a movie contains go to www.pluggedinonline.com! They do great reviews! I'm sorta looking forward to monitoring my kid's movies lol...
