Edit AY! Newbie ![]() | cussing ok, what are your guys's thoughts on cussing??? is it ok??? i don't really cuss. i just think it's sorta tacky. i mean, i do sometimes, but it's not every other word out of my mouth. but really, what makes the "s" word any worse than saying "crap" or something??? i like debating, so tell me your thoughts. |

I've cussed, I'm sure everybody has at LEAST cussed once in their life! Cussing is wrong, BUT we ALL have done it! You're right Cussing is pretty much saying "crap", "shoot", "dang" or whatever word you say. This is how I look at it... Imagine the "s" word or the "f" word, I'm sure it was a made-up word like "dang", and it wasn't bad it was just a word somebody says. Now, then everybody started saying it, and it just got so old or annoying that somebody said you can't say that anymore it's bad! I mean, some people think "crap" is a bad word! I have cousins older than me who can't say it! So any word in the English language can be used in a bad way! like the "a" word! It used to mean "donkey" now it means whatever you want it to be!

Edit AY! Newbie ![]() | see, i don't see 'crap' as a swear word but some people say it is. id like to say i dont swear, but admittedly i do at times...but i try not to swear round others...which has meant that most of my friends dont swear round me. but you are right, how is one swear word more offensive than another. in the end they are all rong and basically mean the same thing. lol. |

Edit Guest | I don't swear at all Now that doesn't mean I have never sweared before because I sure have - I'm just saying that it was a problem with me and so I prayed about it and now I don't swear. Sometimes if I am angry or upset I will think the swear words in my head (which I am trying to stop) but I don't swear outloud. Does anyone know any verses in the Bible that say swearing is a sin that they could share with us? That would be great - thanks |

Adding on to the hypocrisy, the Believers among us WHO DON'T keep their pants zipped still declare themselves to be "holy" because their intentions are directed towards the opposite sex. -http://www.hollywoodJesus.com/ | |

Edit Prophet/Prophetess ![]() | swearing i don;t think so much is the word used as the intention behind it, they are just words they lose their power if one uses them in context to do so. saying that i "swear" more than my fair share, however i don't see it as a problem as they are just words its the thought behind them that should make them either offensive or in-offensive, but i will hold my tounge if asked to do so.

Edit Prophet/Prophetess ![]() | The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45 In other words, cussing is considered bad cuz of the context, as opposed to the actual words. They are often associated with anger, stress, etc - negative feelings... That's where the verse comes in. There are no verses in the Bible that say swearing is a sin, as such, but I think the above verse says it quite well. "Out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks"... In my opinion, that sums it all up...

Edit Guest | When I am very very angry I sometimes slip and swear.... but I view it as bad...because of the reason your saying it. The "D" word...not a bad word...God uses it in the Bible..but when you say it out of anger or somthing...it becomes bad. I am not sure on words like "crap" but just try to stay away from negative words all together. |
