Edit ~me~   | Month of March 2005 Youth of the Month Name: Brett (OnedrummerunderGod) Personal statement of faith: How Long has he/she been saved? 4 years Age: 18 Area of residence: CA Jesus Christ Is the son of God, my savior, my Lord, my King. I love Him and I love you because of Him. My hope lies In the Bible and Jesus. Without Him, we would be nothing. Something awesome I have done is washed another persons feet, something Jesus did. His/her testimony: Well when i was age 8 i saw a play called Heavens Gates, Hells Flames and there i accepted Christ into my heart for the 1st time, but i didn't understand everything and i fell away from the Lord. In 5th grade i started getting treated bad but my 6th grade year was the worst of my life. I didn't really have friends, i was in band every day being made fun of and almost getting in fights, in P. E. i was made fun of. i started cussing and getting bad grades and not obeying my parents. It sucked without God. Then in 8th grade i was getting used to getting made fun of and i was getting more friends and okay grades, but i was still made fun of. 8th grade i joined my church and i went to Acquire the fire, there i had an awesome experience and actually got to know some people i had been playing drums at the junior high now for a while... so i told them that i play and i joined the youth worship team- at that time they had another drummer and i wasn't getting to play and then, it was sweet the drummer left and also right before the drummer left, his dad had been the YP-he left the church because of porn addiction. For a while we didn't have a YP, the gym was built and we started using it and that was cool. Then we got our new youth pastor Luke Buyert from Minnesota. He's an awesome guy, he really fixed the youth group. The college kids in the worship team left and high schoolers replaced them. The band became ours... anyways- through every retreat and trial in the worship team and church and small groups that Luke started and also Mexico 2 times i have grown to have a great relationship with God and others and i have learned a lot. My church is sweet and i have also joined a 2nd youth group that is a bit different. Its great i can never get enough... How he/she tells others about Christ: I play drums on the worship team, i play drums for a Christian rock/punk/worship band. I share God with friends at school, I am on the student leadership team at youth group, I go to Small Groups, I wear Christian shirts, I live a life modeled after Christ. |
