Edit Prophet/Prophetess ![]() | U.S. torture of Terrorist criminals alright? I think its fine. Nowadays, a bomb could go off next door any second. We don't have time to plead with prisoners wilinng to die for their cause. Inflicting pain, I believe, is the only way. What do ya'll think? Godly, and secular views are fine.

Edit Super Moderator ![]() | Honestly, since I don't know what the Bible says on this issue, I'm inclined to be ok with it. Terrorists have done terrible things to people, for some reason I don't think some physical pain is beyond humane.

Edit Prophetic Intercessor ![]() | I think there is still a limit to how far it can go so I put "unsure" as "to a certain extent" is not an option

Edit Prophet/Prophetess ![]() | No. Since when has torturing people, no matter what they do, been ethical? Look you guys, seriously, just because George Bush thinks something is necessary doesn't mean that it's right. Remember when Jesus talked about not following the "eye for an eye" thing. |

Edit Prophet/Prophetess ![]() | How do you know the information you're getting from your prisoner is actually correct? Doesn't it change hourly anyways? Isn't it just a waste of time and effort? I've always been against torture, and I always will be. The fact of the matter is, information changes faster then we can catch up with it, and you might as well spend your time finding a needle in a haystack then torturing someone who most likely knows nothing, and even if he did, would probably be irrelevant in a matter of minutes.

Edit Apostle ![]() | Surely you know what happened in England in the Tower of London hundreds of years ago? The accused were brutally tortured into admitting crimes that most likely they didn't commit. Same with the Salem witch trials. If you don't have sufficient evidence that someone did a crime, then, as far as I'm concerned, you have no business to punish them. Also, not only is it immoral, it is impractical. How can you possibly get an honest answer out of someone if they are being coerced? All you're doing is getting them to say what you want to hear. If someone's tortured enough, then they'll say anything. How do you know that what you're hearing is the truth? Wouldn't you want to arrest the right person for the crime rather than someone who may not have done it? Wouldn't you want truth to ultimately win out? As for cases where the accused has lawfully been found guilty, I still do not believe torture is acceptable. I think we should put our efforts into keeping the rest of society safe instead of beating the heck out of someone. It's unnecessary, and what is there to gain?
