V For Vendetta!

I'm hoping to see this movie in the next few weeks, and I was wondering if anyone else had seen it and what they thought of it. =)

i haven't seen it yet, but you'll have to tell me if it is good! the commercials looked intriguing, but i don't do too well with things that are too scary (hyperactive imagination.) he reminds me of a weird looking zorro though.

A bore? A bore?!?! Kidding, I've never read the book. I shall check it out though. I loved the movie personally. It really was interesting. But you have to pay close attention otherwise the whole thing won't make sense at all. Awesome movie though. Really grabs your attention at the beginning, and if you're really interested in government plots, you'll enjoy the movie.

I saw it last month! Friiiick it was awesome!

The Matrix has more action (in my opinion at least), but V for Vendetta had a really great story-line that wasn't that hard to follow.

It was more against totalitarian governments. I loved the movie, personally. It was somewhat demented at times, but... hey. Destruction with great music. How can you go wrong with that? :P

Add:

I just watched the video Z referenced... Um... I wonder where they got their info from, because I think they are comparing the reign of Jesus Christ to the totalitarian government in the film... did they even watch the movie or read the graphic novel? Because my Jesus isn't like a totalitarian government. Just sayin'

Sorry, but that is so ignorant. Please, make up your own opinion about a movie rather than relying on a website. It is not against God, it is against the totalatarian style of government that the Nazi's used and against accepting what you are presented with even though it isn't right... sounds pretty all right to me.

V for Vendetta promotes acceptance and opposes racism, sexism, corruption, genocide, homophobia and one party states (aka, dictatorships). It does not promote homosexuality, Islam or the idea that the church is inherently corrupt.
Rather, the scenes in which the church is portrayed negatively (ie the perverted bishop, the extreme fundementalism) are all involving characters whom the audience knows are bad characters in the first place, their views on EVERYTHING being twisted, hence we do not take what they say as fact. We merely see that what the church has become under the control of this totalitarian government is wrong, like the state. So, it is not "totally against" the church, but rather the states ultimate control over the church which would be a bad thing.

So please, before you condmen a movie, watch it and educate yourself rather then taking a websites interpretation of it as absolute fact. Infact, don't take my word for it that V4V isn't dissing the church... watch it and make up your own mind. Of course, if you oppose some swearing, a bit of stylised violence and non crude sexual references, or if you hate movies which make you think then dont see V for Vendetta... just dont make ignorant statements.

Disclaimer: This post is not meant to be attacking and I'm sorry if you see it that way, however I felt it was my duty to defend this brilliant piece of film making.
