Dreams at Night

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but...for the past I'd say a month and a half now I have been having nightmares (instead of dreams) that are of the sexual nature. I know that these dreams aren't of God and I pray to God that HE would erase them from my memory and HE does...I know that the devil is on my back for "he comes to steal, kill and destroy." John 10:10: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

I just want some encouragement and prayer because I am single right now and I must admit that sexual immorality is a problem for me and I have done things in the past that aren't of God, but now I'm trying to "flee" from sexual sins. I am celibate and that is very difficult, especially with all the images and music that can influence me.

Any thoughts, scriptures or experience on this subject matter would be greatly appreciated. Amen

i can't say i've had this problem, probably because i rarely remember my dreams.

although, i do have a few suggestions. my main suggestion would be to read your Bible before going to bed, if possible. this way, your thoughts can be focused on God, and what you have just read. also, before actually falling asleep, try not to let your mind wander into those sexual areas - stop it while you still have the chance. also, if you have an iPod or some other device, it may help you to listen to praise music or a sermon while trying to drift off. i know that last one is a long stretch, but i though i'd suggest it.

I've had dreams like that before. Man are they creepy! But I think you're on the right track. Just remember that there is nothing you can directly do about your dreams. Only God can change the things you dream about. Now, there ARE some things you can do to cut down on creepy bad dreams. Those would be: screen your music, if there's anything in it that is the least it sensual, stop listening to it; be conscious of the movies, if there are scenes in it that you wouldn't be willing to act out in real life, then get rid of those movies! And lastly, be super cautious with what you read. Most people have the mistaken idea that what they read doesn't effect them as much as what they see. This is not true! It effects you as much if not more because when you read, realize it or not, you are visualizing what is only in print.

Thanks for your suggestions...I have in the past listen to gospel music before going to bed and i do meditation @ 7pm (with Gods help every night)...thanks if anyone else has any other experiences or scripture to give I'd appreciate it.

I've had dreams like that before.
Heres what I did.
I prayed to God. I asked him to keep Lucifer out of my dreams at night and protect me from evil. I prayed that God would take these from me.

And it worked.

Feel free to PM me about it. Maybe it's just something that you have to let work out of your mind. Everything that you dream about stems from things you've read, seen, or imagined. Perhaps this is all from one of those and it's just gotta work its way out of your subconscious.

I'm not really sure what's going on I know tha I didn't start having them until I broke off this casual relationship that I was having with someone who says that he was a CHRISTIAN but he's life didn't reflect that and to make a long, long, long...lol story short God told me that I was only having this relationship for my own personal gain and that it SHOULD be to glorify HIM...
